A busy lifestyle leaves us exhausted and tired at the end of the day. The very 'me' time gets lost somewhere as every day we rush to catch up with our professional and personal duties. While we juggle multiple roles daily, personal care takes a backseat. Result – a dull and lifeless skin.

Well, contrary to what many of us think, following a healthy skin care regime is not complicated. Instead of spending a fortune in the beauty salon, you can attain a healthy and glowing skin in just 1-2-3 steps.

Do not believe? Read further:

1. Cleanse

This is the very basic step. Search for a good quality face cleanser. Consider shopping for skin care products online. There are numerous websites that sell premium quality skin care and personal grooming products at a price affordable for everyone.

Choose a face cleanser that matches your skin type. For instance, if you have oily skin, then a gel-based face cleanser will be perfect for you. Similarly, if you have a dry skin, then cream-based face cleanser with honey will be suitable.

Do not wash your face too often. Well, this can harm your skin. Excessive washing can leave your skin dried and dull.

I personally use face cleanser every morning and night. If required I just splash water on my face in the afternoons or evenings (unless I am going out)

A little tip of advice for the makeup lovers: make sure to remove all the traces of the makeup from the face. Do not ever sleep with makeup on your face. Use a good quality makeup remover for wiping the makeup.

If you do not want to invest in a cosmetic makeup remover, consider using a natural cleanser. I personally swear by olive oil as the perfect natural makeup remover. It easily wipes my waterproof eyeliner and mascara.

2. Exfoliate

Sadly most people often skip this step in their daily skin care regime. For those who doubt the importance of skin exfoliation, here’s one simple question: How often does your skin get exposed to pollution? Well, the answer (in most cases) will be several times.

Now imagine the effect of the dust and polluted air on your skin. Frightening isn't it?

Skin exfoliation is not necessary to do every day. I personally suggest you to do it 2-3 times a week. Within a month or so, you will notice a huge difference in the quality and texture of your skin. Your skin will look more youthful and glowing.

Endorsed by countless beauty editors, Clarins is a brand you can trust.

3. Moisturize

Every beauty expert is a believer of this skin care step. And so, investing in a good quality moisturizer is necessary.

Tip: It’s a fact that healthy skin requires moisturizing however the extent of moisturizing for different skin types varies. For instance, if you have oily skin then you need not moisturize it for more than 2 times a day. Similarly, an excessively dry skin will require moisturizing may be 3-4 times a day.

Recommended by make-up artists across the world, Kielh's Ultra Moisturiser is a constant staple at all the runway shows.

Ultimately it all depends on your skin type.

Cleanse, Exfoliate & Moisturize – While these 3 things are the basics of any skin care routine, you can always add some more steps depending on your skin type. For instance, many women prefer using a skin toner daily. Again, skin toner is mainly meant for oily skin or those with an oily T-zone.
